Gare Marítima da Madeira hosted the SHIFT2DC General Assembly on the 27th. A project financed by the Horizon Europe program that brings together 33 partners from 10 countries, including universities, companies, research centers and public entities, under the coordination of INESC, dedicated to the modernization of energy infrastructures through the use of direct current (DC). A technology that allows you to increase efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
At the opening of the work, the President of the Administration of Ports of the Autonomous Region of Madeira (APRAM, SA), Paula Cabaço, highlighted that SHIFT2DC “brings together some of the best European partners in the construction of more efficient and more sustainable energy infrastructures”, highlighting that, despite the small size of the Port of Funchal and the region’s outermost condition, “Madeira has the ambition and determination of those who want to be part of the solution”.
