Two service orders will be signed by the Ministry of Transport: one for the start of works that will bring improvements to urban traffic in Maringá and another that will play a strategic role in the flow of agricultural production in the northwest of Paraná. The investment in the two works is R$730 million. The service order on urban traffic concerns the Contorno Sul Metropolitano de Maringá, on BR-376/PR. With an investment of R$409 million, the work will alleviate the intense flow of vehicles, especially cargo. The other authorization is to execute the fourth and final stretch of BR-487/PR, known as Estrada Boiadeira, between Serra dos Dourados and Cruzeiro do Oeste. The work, with an investment of R$321.2 million, covers 37 kilometers and corresponds to the last segment needed to complete the connection between Campo Mourão, in the central region of Paraná, and the border with Mato Grosso do Sul. The highway connects grain producing areas to the Port of Paranaguá.
The Ministry of Ports and Airports (MPor) will announce the authorization of the tender for the works to renovate and expand the passenger terminal and modernize the control tower at Maringá Regional Airport (PR), with an investment of R$ 129.1 million, and the signing of the concession contract for the exploration and management of the waterway access infrastructure to the Port of Paranaguá, estimated at R$ 1.23 billion.
The investments are part of the Brazilian Government’s set of actions to strengthen the country’s logistics infrastructure, expand production flow capacity and increase the competitiveness of the economy
