Ports of Santa Catarina are among the best in the country in environmental performance by ANTAQ

This Saturday (14) the Integração 5.0 program interviews Ivan Amaral, Secretary of State for Ports, Airports and Railways (SPAF) of Santa Catarina, to discuss the award that the ports of São Francisco do Sul and Imbituba received from the National Waterway Transport Agency (Antaq) in the Environmental Development Index (IDA).

Through the award, Antaq recognizes the best environmental management practices in the Brazilian port sector and the assessment considers 38 indicators related to environmental management, covering legal compliance and adoption of sustainable operational practices.

In the survey, IDA analyzed 36 public ports across the country and, for the first time, terminals in Santa Catarina were among the top three.

According to Ivan, the two ports are managed by the State government with excellence and follow Antaq’s environmental requirements. As a result, they were recognized among the best performing ports in the country.

In addition to the award, other topics were covered in the program related to ports, airports and railways that are under the command of the Santa Catarina secretariat.
