The authorization for the Mexican company TM Aerolíneas to operate regular international air transport of cargo, with origin or destination in Brazil, should expand the country’s logistics connectivity and strengthen its integration into global trade chains. Permission was granted by the National Civil Aviation Agency (Anac), through Ordinance 18.932/2026, published on March 13th.

The decision was taken after the company complied with the regulatory requirements required by the agency. With authorization, the company will now be able to operate international cargo transport routes involving Brazilian territory, expanding logistical options for sending and receiving goods.
The Minister of Ports and Airports, Silvio Costa Filho, highlighted that the expansion of the presence of foreign companies in the country contributes to Brazilian logistics and to boost the country’s production. “Each new company that starts operating cargo transport in Brazil expands our logistics routes, increases the competitiveness of the sector and creates better conditions for the flow of national production. This is essential to strengthen foreign trade and further integrate Brazil into global supply chains”, he said.

Growth of air cargo in Brazil
Air cargo transport plays a strategic role in Brazilian foreign trade, especially for goods with high added value or those that require fast delivery. In 2025, the country’s airports handled 1.34 billion kilos of cargo, including domestic and international flights, according to data from Anac’s Supply and Demand Report.
Of this total, 881.7 million kilos were transported on flights between Brazil and other countries, equivalent to 65.4% of all air cargo handled in the period. Domestic operations accounted for 465.4 million kilos, around 34.6% of the total.
Among Brazil’s main commercial partners in air cargo transport are the United States, Portugal, Chile, Germany and Spain, which concentrate a significant part of the international logistics operations carried out by Brazilian airports.
Global expansion trend
The expansion of air cargo routes occurs at a time of growth in the sector on a global scale. According to a report from the International Air Transport Association (IATA), from December 2025, global demand for air cargo transport grew 4.3% in 2025, with emphasis on international operations, which increased 5.5% in the period.
The survey points out that the sector’s expansion has been driven by factors such as the growth of e-commerce, the reorganization of global supply chains and the need for fast transport for high-value and time-sensitive goods.
In this context, the entry of new international operators into the Brazilian market tends to expand the available routes and strengthen the country’s logistics infrastructure, contributing to the competitiveness of foreign trade.
