Struggling Japanese panel manufacturer looks to shore up finances

TOKYO/CHIBA, Japan — Japan Display (JDI) is in negotiations with Micron Technology to sell a major LCD panel production facility in Japan, under plans revealed on Thursday, with the U.S. memory maker reportedly looking to use it for chip assembly and testing.
