Emirates has become the first airline cargo carrier to place a converted Boeing 777-300ERSF passenger-to-freighter aircraft into commercial service, marking a new milestone in the expansion of its cargo fleet.
The aircraft, registered A6-EBK, entered service on a flight from Hong Kong to Dubai carrying more than 100 tonnes of cargo.
The converted Boeing 777-300ERSF offers a payload capacity of 100 tonnes and 811 cubic metres of cargo volume, providing around 25% more cargo space than the Boeing 777-F production freighter. It also features 47 pallet positions, accommodating 10 more pallets than the production freighter, making it well suited for high-volume cargo such as e-commerce shipments.
Emirates SkyCargo said the aircraft is the sixth freighter to join its fleet since March 2026, following the delivery of five Boeing 777-F production freighters.
The carrier plans to receive five additional Boeing 777-F aircraft and another converted Boeing 777-300ERSF by the end of 2026, followed by three more converted Boeing 777-300ERSFs in 2027.
Emirates SkyCargo said the fleet expansion has already helped increase its dedicated freighter network from just over 40 destinations in February to 62 destinations, supporting growing global demand for air cargo services.
