Disney Destiny Makes Maiden Visit to San Juan – Cruise Industry News

The new Disney Destiny arrived in Puerto Rico for the first time earlier this week for its maiden call to San Juan.

Offering a seven-night cruise to the Eastern Caribbean, the 140,000-ton vessel entered service for Disney Cruise Line in late 2025.

According to the San Juan Cruise Port, a special event was held onboard to celebrate the inaugural visit, which took place on June 30, 2026.

“We were proud to welcome the Disney Destiny on its first-ever visit to San Juan during its maiden call ceremony,” the port said in a social media update.

“With more than 2,500 guests, the Disney Destiny joins the thousands of cruise passengers who visit San Juan each week, bringing new energy to our waterfront and creating meaningful opportunities for local businesses,” it added.

The San Juan Cruise Port highlighted the positive impact that cruise operations have on local businesses, including restaurants, shops, transportation providers and tour operators.

“Every inaugural call helps support the people and businesses that make Puerto Rico such a memorable destination,” the facility continued, noting that the visit is an “exciting milestone for Disney Cruise Line and for San Juan.”

The Disney Destiny arrived in Puerto Rico as part of an itinerary that also includes visits to destinations in the Bahamas and St. Maarten.

Sailing roundtrip from Port Canaveral, the seven-night cruise is also scheduled to sail to Philipsburg and Lighthouse Point.

Built at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany, the Disney Destiny entered service for Disney Cruise Line in November 2025.

As the third ship in the company’s Wish-class series, the 2,500-passenger vessel is offering weeklong cruises to the Caribbean and the Bahamas.

Sailing from Port Canaveral, the itineraries are highlighted by visits to Disney’s private island destinations in the Bahamas, including Castaway Cay and Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point.
