OOCL has completed the first green methanol bunkering of its new dual-fuel containership OOCL Wisdom at Qingdao Port.
The vessel also began its maiden voyage on the Asia–North Europe Loop 1 (LL1) service.
OOCL Wisdom is the first of seven methanol dual-fuel containerships ordered by the company.
With a capacity of 24,168 TEUs, it is currently the world’s largest methanol dual-fuel containership.
The successful bunkering marks another step in OOCL’s fleet renewal and low-carbon strategy.
Peter Pan, Director of Trades at OOCL, said the milestone reflects the company’s growing partnership with Shandong Port Group.

He said the operation also demonstrates OOCL’s commitment to decarbonization, digitalization and sustainable shipping.
Pan added that OOCL will continue to invest in fleet modernization and low-carbon technologies. He said the company aims to provide customers with safer, more reliable and more sustainable logistics services while supporting global trade.
