The Port of Fortaleza now has new access to the Maritime Passenger Terminal after the completion of the requalification works carried out by Companhia Docas do Ceará (CDC). The intervention is part of the port infrastructure modernization program and represents another step towards increasing operational efficiency, improving internal circulation and offering better conditions for users and operators of the port complex.
With investments of around R$6 million, the work promoted a complete transformation of the main access road to the terminal. Among the improvements made are the implementation of interlocking paving, drainage system, public lighting, horizontal and vertical signage, construction of pedestrian walkways, median and installation of a new security guardhouse.

One of the main advances was the implementation of two-way traffic, a measure that significantly expands the vehicle circulation capacity and reduces congestion points during busy periods. The change benefits not only cruise passengers, but also port workers, service providers, logistics operators, suppliers and visitors who use the Maritime Passenger Terminal on a daily basis.
According to Companhia Docas do Ceará, the requalification also contributes to raising the levels of security and organization in access to the terminal, creating better conditions for the development of activities linked to maritime tourism, logistics and events that have been held in the space in recent years.
According to the CEO of CDC, Quintino Vieira, the completion of the work represents an important advance for the port’s infrastructure. The expectation is that the new access will make operations more efficient, offering greater fluidity to internal traffic and providing more comfort for all terminal users.
In addition to meeting the growing demand for cruise tourism, the investment reinforces the modernization strategy of the Port of Fortaleza, which seeks to increase its competitiveness in both logistical operations and passenger movement. The improvement of infrastructure also expands the terminal’s potential to host corporate, cultural and institutional events, diversifying the use of space and strengthening its importance for the economy of Ceará.
The delivery of the work reaffirms Companhia Docas do Ceará’s commitment to the continuous modernization of its assets, creating conditions for the Port of Fortaleza to accompany the growth of port activities and maritime tourism, sectors considered strategic for the economic development of the region.
