Ruscon, part of the Delo Group, is using the Northern Sea Route for westbound container sailings from China to St. Petersburg during the summer navigation season, according to DynaLiners.
According to the carrier, the Arctic route reduces transit times to around 30 days, compared with approximately 45 days via the Suez Canal.
The service rotation varies depending on operational requirements but typically includes Nansha, Taicang and St. Petersburg.
Ruscon said the Northern Sea Route provides a faster seasonal alternative for cargo moving between China and Russia during the Arctic navigation window.
