Swire Shipping expands in Southeast Asia with Dili office

Singapore-headquartered Swire Shipping has opened a branch office in Dili, Timor-Leste.

The office will be led by Darry Tanwho has spent the past two years on the ground in Timor-Leste working closely with Swire Shipping’s agency partner, Something Logistics. Having been with the company since 2018, Swire Shipping emphasised Tan’s extensive local market knowledge and established customer relationships.

Tan will also be joined by a number of experienced personnel who will transition from Ceva to the Dili branch office, which will soon move into its own dedicated premises.

“Timor-Leste is an exciting market with strong long-term growth prospects,” said Randy Selvaratnamchief commercial officer of Swire Shipping. “Establishing our own office in Dili demonstrates our commitment to supporting local customers and contributing to the country’s development as it deepens its integration with the regional economy.”

Swire Shipping’s East Timor Service (ETS) offers direct connections between Timor-Leste and global markets, via its Singapore hub, every 10 days.

In April, Swire Shipping opened a branch office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia as it looks to strengthen its operations in Southeast Asia.
