Maersk will reintroduce its seasonal Melbourne Star product for the third consecutive year to support Australia’s peak export season.
The service, enabled through weekly Melbourne calls on the Southern Star network, will call at DP World Terminal Melbourne and provide expedited connections to Southeast Asian transshipment hubs and onward global markets.
The seasonal calls will begin on 10 August 2026 with Maersk Rio Negro (voyage 630N) and continue through 5 October 2026, covering eight consecutive sailings.
Maersk said the Melbourne Star service offers transit times of 11 days to Tanjung Pelepas and 13 days to Singapore, providing exporters with faster access to international shipping networks during the peak season.
