Avia Solutions Group has appointed Zilvinas Lapinskas as its new chief executive as the company looks to start the next phase of its global expansion.
Lapinskas joins from the position of chief executive of Avia-owned FL Technics Group, where he “transformed the business from a European MRO provider into a global operation serving Tier 1 carriers across multiple continents”.
Lapinskas will continue serving as chief executive of FL Technics until the end of July, when his successor will be
named.
He replaces Jonas Janukenas, who has led the group for almost nine years and will move into the chief financial officer role, where he will “deploy his financial expertise exclusively across capital allocation, financial strategy, and the group long-term growth objectives”.
Lapinskas said: “Over the past several years, the group has built a strong foundation for sustainable growth, and I look forward to accelerating that momentum.
“My immediate priority is to work closely with our teams to strengthen our operational footprint and
build the long-term partnerships that will underpin our success in this highly competitive market.”
Avia Solutions Group owns cargo charter broker Champan Freeborn, while several of its airlines offer cargo operations.
Gediminas Ziemelis, founder and chairman of the board of Avia Solutions Group, added: “Zilvinas has a proven ability to build and scale aviation businesses globally, making him the right leader to guide our next phase of expansion while retaining Jonas as a key leader will mean we retain his understanding of the group.”
