The Cordelia Sun is scheduled to make its debut in India in November 2027, according to the Cordelia Cruises website.
Currently sailing as the Norwegian Sun, the 2001-built vessel was acquired by the homegrown cruise line in April 2025, along with the Norwegian Sky.
The two ships are set to join the former Empress of the Seas for cruises out of a series of ports in India and Southeast Asia.
After completing a final cruise for Norwegian Cruise Line in September 2027, the Sun will kick off its inaugural cruise for Cordelia Cruises on November 1, 2027.
Sailing roundtrip from Mumbai, the 2,000-passenger vessel is scheduled to offer a series of short cruises to destinations on India’s west coast.
For its maiden voyage, the Cordelia Sun will offer a four-night itinerary that includes a visit to Agatti Island in Lakshadweep, in addition to two days at sea.
Continuing its inaugural schedule, the ship will sail additional two- to five-night cruises that sail to Agatti Island, in addition to Mormugao in Goa and Cochin.
Other highlights of the season include two-night cruises to nowhere, which feature a day at sea before returning to Mumbai.
The published deployment currently runs through April 2028, and guests can also board the ship in Cochin and Goa on selected sailings.
Currently offering a summer season in Northern Europe, the Norwegian Sun will follow the Norwegian Sky in joining Cordelia’s fleet.
The 1999-built ship is presently operating a farewell season in the British Isles ahead of being handed over to the company later this year.
According to Cruise Industry Newsthe 2,000-guest ship will be renamed Cordelia Sky for cruises in India starting on October 23, 2026.
The vessel will offer short cruises from Mumbai, Goa and Cochin before adding longer cruises to Southeast Asia to its schedule in mid-2027.
Cordelia also operates the former Empress of the Seas, which has been sailing in India as the Cordelia Sun since late 2021
