Campinas presents a 36% increase in the number of companies opened in the first half of 2026

The municipality of Campinas recorded a positive balance of 5,219 companies opened between January and June 2026. This mark represents a significant increase of 36%, compared to the same period in 2025, when a balance of 3,834 new businesses were recorded in the city.

The data is part of a survey carried out by the Secretariat of Economic Development, Technology and Innovation of Campinas and has information from the Commercial Board of the State of São Paulo (Jucesp). The indicator, made on July 14th, corresponds to the difference between open and closed companies in the first six months of the year and does not include the registrations of Individual Microentrepreneurs (MEIs).

For the municipal secretary of Economic Development, Technology and Innovation, Adriana Flosi, the growth demonstrates the confidence of entrepreneurs in the Campinas economy and reflects the work carried out to make the business environment increasingly competitive.

“Campinas brings together factors that make a difference for those who decide to undertake: a consolidated innovation ecosystem, qualified labor, universities, research centers and public policies aimed at economic development. This growth shows that more people and companies see the city as a safe environment to invest, grow and generate jobs.
