Poland’s rail regulator has withdrawn the safety certificates of two freight operators within three weeks after separate stop-signal incidents triggered inspections that uncovered dozens of serious safety deficiencies. One incident resulted in a near-collision, while inspectors also found falsified safety records and failures to carry out mandatory brake tests.
