Nicko Reveals 2027-28 World Cruise with Vasco da Gama – Cruise Industry News

Nicko Cruises has announced its 2027-28 world cruise aboard the Vasco da Gama.

According to a press release, the 172-day voyage will depart from Lisbon on November 4, 2027.

After crossing six continents and visiting 41 countries, the Vasco da Gama is set to return to Lisbon on April 24, 2028.

The trip can be booked in its entirety, as a “Big World Tour,” with a shorter, 125-day option from Panama City to Lisbon also available as part of the “Small World Tour.”

Guests can also book any of the nine segments individually or combine them as desired.

From Atlantic to the Caribbean

From Lisbon, the itinerary traces Azores, Canary Islands and Cape Verde before crossing the Atlantic to Bridgetown, Barbados and then to Fort-de-France on Martinique.

Island hopping in the Caribbean

The next 14-day segment takes guests from Martinique to the Dominican Republic, exploring Dominica, Antigua and St. Kitts, bays of the British Virgin Islands, ending in Santo Domingo.

Caribbean, Central America and the Panama Canal

Next up is Jamaica and its reggae culture, followed by the Cayman Islands, Belize, Honduras and Costa Rica, followed by a Panama Canal transit, with this 16-day segment ending in Panama City.

Christmas & New Year’s Eve under palm trees

The fourth segment of the world cruise connects Central America with the South Seas. Christmas holidays are spent in Costa Rica and Guatemala, followed by cruising to Mexico and New Year’s celebration in Cabo San Lucas.

Next up is French Polynesia, calling at the Marquesas, Tuamotu Archipelago, Moorea and Tahiti.

Pure South Seas

From Tahiti, the route continues through Bora Bora, the Cook Islands, crosses the International Date Line, and calls at Tonga, Fiji, Vanuatu and Nouméa before reaching Sydney.

Australia’s East Coast to Indonesia

This 20-day segment covers Sydney, Brisbane, Townsville, Cairns and Darwin, then Indonesia’s Timor, Komodo, Bali and Java, ending in Jakarta.

Southeast Asia & Dream Islands in the Indian Ocean

Over 24 days, the ship calls at Singapore, Malaysia, the Maldives, Seychelles and Zanzibar, concluding in Mombasa, Kenya.

Madagascar, Mauritius, South Africa

From Kenya to South Africa, stops in this segment include the Comoros, Madagascar, Mauritius and La Réunion, followed by safari excursions in South Africa.

Africa to Tenerife

The final segment travels from Durban past the Garden Route, Cape Town and the Cape of Good Hope, then along Africa’s Atlantic coast via Walvis Bay and Angola to Ilhéu Bom Bom, with a last call in Tenerife before returning to Lisbon.

The Vasco da Gama is scheduled to embark on the 2026-27 world cruise on November 3, 2026.
