Germany to boost rail expansion budget but cut freight track access support

Germany is preparing to increase funding for new and expanded rail infrastructure in 2027, after the Cabinet signed off on the draft federal budget. But the same draft would cut track access charge support for rail freight, drawing criticism from private freight operators.
