Built in the company’s own shipyard, located in Guarujá, São Paulo, the WS Halcyon is 23 meters long, 12 meters wide, azimuthal propulsion and static traction of 70 tons. The vessel is also equipped with a fire fighting system capable of releasing up to 2.4 million liters of water per hour, increasing operational safety standards.
According to Wilson Sons, two other tugboats of the same 2312 class are under construction at the company’s shipyard, with deliveries scheduled throughout 2026. With the completion of the new series, the company will reach the mark of 155 vessels built in its own shipbuilding facilities.
The CEO of Wilson Sons, Arnaldo Calbucci, highlighted that the incorporation of the new tugs is part of the ongoing fleet renewal plan, currently made up of more than 80 units. According to him, the investment reinforces the company’s commitment to increasingly safe, efficient and sustainable port operations.
“With the christening of WS Halcyon and the new tug construction cycle, we reaffirm our commitment to port operations with a focus on safety, efficiency and sustainability,” stated Calbucci.
