Viracopos International Airport, located in Campinas (SP), received CEIV Pharma recertification, granted by the International Air Transport Association (IATA), valid until December 31, 2028. The recognition reinforces the airport’s role as a strategic link for imports and exports in the health sector.

The international certification covers the Cargo Handling Facility and Ground Handling Service Provider categories, reassuring that the airport meets the highest global standards of quality, safety and control in the handling of pharmaceutical products and guaranteeing the integrity of cargo throughout the entire logistics chain.

For Marina Giffú Commercial Cargo Manager at Viracopos International Airport, CEIV Pharma certification demonstrates that the Viracopos Cargo Terminal has a structured Quality Management System, risk management, complete traceability and technological integration between operational systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, as well as greater agility and predictability in import and export operations.

Furthermore, it also shows the pharmaceutical industry that Viracopos stands out for its modern infrastructure dedicated to the pharmaceutical segment, with air-conditioned areas, temperature control, continuous monitoring, standardized processes and staff trained in accordance with best international practices.

Also according to the Commercial Manager, the recognition consolidates Viracopos as an international reference in pharmaceutical logistics. The airport has Smart Pharma, which consists of a series of logistical measures to facilitate service for companies that import and export products from the pharmaceutical industry.

Among the main innovations of Smart Pharma is the provision of specific electronic pre-alert forms for communicating the arrival of pharmaceutical and related loads and other loads under health surveillance. These electronic pre-alerts allow for differentiated treatment, ensuring priority, adequate segregation and detailed monitoring of the process.
