TOKYO — Japan on Thursday refuted the findings of a report from the U.S. Office of the Director of National Intelligence released on Wednesday, which stated that Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi’s comments that a Taiwan crisis could constitute a survival-threatening situation for Japan represents “a significant shift for a sitting Japanese prime minister.”
