The Port of Paranaguá reached a new milestone in port operations by registering the largest landing of imported electric vehicles ever in Paraná. According to Portos do Paraná, the port authority responsible for managing the state terminals, the operation began on Sunday night (22), in berth 219, an area dedicated exclusively to the movement of this type of cargo. Over the course of 17 uninterrupted hours of work, more than one hundred professionals participated in the activity, including dockers, mooring teams, inspectors and other agents involved in the operation.
According to the director of port operations of Paranaguá, Gabriel Vieira, the disembarkation rate reached an average of 220 vehicles per hour, demonstrating the logistical efficiency of the terminal.
After removing the ship, the vehicles were sent to storage at the Ascensus Vehicle Terminal. They will then be sent to Renault, Geely’s partner in Brazil, and taken to the automaker’s yard in São José dos Pinhais, in the Metropolitan Region of Curitiba. From there, the cars will be distributed throughout the country.
The record reinforces the strategic role of the Port of Paranaguá in Brazilian automotive logistics, especially in a scenario of growing demand for electric vehicles and expanding commercial relations with the Asian market.
