$6 billion deepwater oil project crosses 50% mark as Angolan partners track subsea gear’s buildout progress
TotalEnergies, Petronas, Sonangol, and ANPG have inspected the manufacturing progress of subsea equipment at OneSubsea’s facility.
A multibillion-dollar oil project off the coast of Angola has passed the halfway development mark, as France’s TotalEnergies, Malaysia’s Petroliam Nasional Berhad (Petronas), Luanda-headquartered Sonangol EP, and the country’s National Agency of Petroleum, Gas and Biofuels (ANPG) headed overseas to check on the construction of critical subsea hardware for the African project.
A delegation from ANPG, led by Administrator Ana Miala, together with representatives from TotalEnergies, Petronas, and Sonangol visited the OneSubsea facilities in Johor, Republic of Malaysia, at the end of last month to monitor the manufacturing of equipment that integrates the subsea production system (SPS) of the Kaminho project.
The delegation included Gaspar Fernandes, Member of the Operations Committee for Block 20 of ANPG; Mutombo Dondo, Deputy Director of TotalEnergies EP Angola; Rui Rodrigues and Steven Croguennec, Directors of Block 20 at TotalEnergies EP Angola and of the project, respectively; and representatives of the Block 20/11 partners from Petronas and Sonangol.
