The American Association of Port Authorities (AAPA) has named Rory Respicio as its inaugural Americas region director on the AAPA board of directors.
The new Americas region seat was established under AAPA’s amended and restated bylaws, adopted and effective September 25, 2026. The organisation’s board comprises 11 individuals. Under the new bylaws, voting-eligible US Core Members located outside the continental USA are able to nominate, vote for, and serve as the Americas region director.
Respicio has served as general manager of the Port Authority of Guam since 2019. He previously served 14 years in the Guam Legislature.
“Rory is a respected leader in the maritime industry, and AAPA is proud to welcome him to the board in this newly established role,” said Sang Yi, president and ceo of AAPA. “Creating dedicated representation for the members outside the continental United States strengthens AAPA’s ability to unite American ports to advance our industry’s shared interests.”
