Amazon Business—Amazon’s business-to-business purchasing platform—has expanded the analysis and reporting capabilities of its Amazon Business Assistant chatbot.
Launched in November 2025, the conversational AI tool can not only answer questions about how to configure the platform and set up an account but also help users track orders, check on approvals, discover savings opportunities, allocate payments, and analyze spend. The tool uses the customer's past orders, role-specific permissions, and organizational purchasing policies to provide customized analysis and suggest actions.
For example, customers can now ask the Business Assistant questions such as “How much did we spend on IT supplies last month?" “What share of our purchasing volume went to small or diverse sellers?” or “What was our top restricted item purchased last month?” The Business Assistant will respond to these queries within seconds without the user needing to run a report, analyze a table, or navigate menus. According to Amazon, the answers are based on up to two years of the customer’s own account history across orders, shipments, payments, refunds, savings, products, and sellers.
“The more conversational and easy-to-use we make this assistant, the more time we give back to our customers to think about their strategy or supplier consolidation or how to talk to their C-suite,” said Daniel Silverfield, head of Value and Selection for Amazon Business.
