CODEBA and the Bahia Investment and Asset Management Company (Bahiainveste) have signed a technical cooperation agreement to study dedicated access for complex cargo, including wind equipment, and improve integration between Bahia’s ports, roads and railways. Companhia das Docas do Estado da Bahia (CODEBA) is the federal government-controlled port authority responsible for managing public ports and maritime infrastructure in the state of Bahia, Brazil. Its president, Antonio Gobbo, said the partnership aims to advance multimodal cargo transport. This includes potentially creating an dedicated access route for wind equipment and other cargo with complex transport requirements.

The agreement also provides for cooperation on concession, leasing and private operation models for terminals and port facilities managed by, or of interest to, the two organisations.

Further studies will examine improvements to port logistics, including the revitalisation of the Central Atlantic Railway (FCA) and its interconnection with the West-East Integration Railway (FIOL). These initiatives aim to improve connections between transport modes and strengthen Bahia’s logistics competitiveness.
