Bureau Veritas grants type approval to WinGD’s variable compression technology

Bureau Veritas Marine & Offshore has granted Type Approval to WinGD’s Variable Compression Ratio (VCR) technology, marking an important step in the development of more efficient marine dual-fuel engines.

The technology allows marine engines to adjust their compression ratio according to o

perating conditions and fuel selection. This helps optimize combustion, improve fuel efficiency and reduce emissions.

Unlike conventional marine engines, which operate with a fixed compression ratio, WinGD’s system enables adjustments during operation.
