CMA CGM has announced a new War Risk Surcharge (WRS) for shipments to and from Black Sea countries. The carrier has also updated its Dangerous Goods Surcharge for selected routes connecting Europe, North Africa and the Red Sea.

The measures introduce a US$35 per TEU war risk charge for Black Sea shipments and a US$150 per TEU charge for specified dangerous goods movements.

CMA CGM will introduce a War Risk Surcharge of US$35 per TEU on all cargo moving to and from Black Sea countries, effective 9 November 2026.

However, the surcharge will take effect on 1 December 2026 for the United States and its territories, Australia, New Zealand and Latin American countries subject to regulatory filing requirements.
