Sonia Nair, National Head, Customer Service, Blue Dart Express, said, “In our experience, the cold chain seldom fails in the air. It fails on the ground, when cargo waits in a warehouse, undergoes customs examination or moves from truck to aircraft. Every additional hour at these points eats into the product’s shelf life. Cost is another major concern. Insulated packaging, data loggers, and priority uplift all add to the freight bill, with smaller exporters feeling the impact most acutely. Packaging tested for specific transportation lanes and access to cold-storage facilities at origin can make a significant difference. When cargo is properly packaged, stored, and cleared in advance, it is ready for loading without unnecessary delays. Faster delivery begins with ensuring that shipments are properly prepared, temperature-protected and ready to move.”
