Descartes integrates ocean container tracking into SAP platforms

Descartes Systems Group has integrated its MacroPoint Advanced Ocean Visibility solution with two SAP transportation platforms, providing shippers with improved container tracking and multimodal shipment visibility.

The integration connects Descartes MacroPoint with SAP Business Network Freight Collaboration and SAP Business Network Global Track and Trace through the Descartes Global Logistics Network (GLN).

As a result, customers can access ocean shipment information directly within their existing SAP systems. The connection aims to simplify cargo monitoring and improve coordination across international supply chains.

The integrated solution provides near real-time tracking of containers throughout their journeys. It covers key shipping milestones, including vessel departures, arrivals, loading operations and container gate movements.
