Marine solutions specialist Ecocoast has been appointed by Xylem, a global provider of water and environmental monitoring technologies, as its authorised systems and service partner for the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region.
The partnership is intended to strengthen Ecocoast’s existing environmental monitoring solutions portfolio across the GCC through the integration of Xylem sensing technologies, including its YSI and Aanderaa instruments, into the systems it supplies and services for clients across the UAE, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman and Qatar.
Xylem instruments will be integrated with Ecocoast’s configurable data buoy platforms, delivering real-time environmental intelligence for marine and coastal applications. Usually, marine projects are monitored through occasional manual sampling, followed by a wait for laboratory results, whereas the integration of the additional technology will mean that monitoring buoys will provide continuous protection and alert the operator immediately. This is expected to help with the early detection of oil spills and other emergencies to keep the region’s marine environment safe.
Joachim de Jenlis, Chief Executive Officer of Ecocoast, said: “This partnership strengthens our ability to deliver complete environmental monitoring solutions tailored to the needs of clients across the GCC. By combining Xylem’s sensing technology with our field-proven data buoy platforms and regional service capability, we are helping organisations access reliable environmental intelligence backed by teams that understand local operating conditions.”
