Two family-owned inland shipping companies, Amer Shipping and De Graaf & Meeusen, have launched TriBarge, a joint chartering office based in Antwerp, Belgium. The two companies noted that TriBarge is a long-term commitment, reflected in a newbuild order.
The newly established outfit will charter inland vessels across the Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp (ARA) region, the German canals and the Moselle. TriBarge will also lean on Stream Shipping, a joint venture between MSGeG and Amer Shipping, to serve destinations as far as the Black Sea.
“By joining forces, we can offer customers a broader range of services and more continuity and capacity on all European inland waterways,” said Sander Meeusen, director at Van De Graaf & Meeusen.
The joint outfit will operate from the Tweede Havendok in Antwerp and the team will be expanded in phases. Devin van Dam will join TriBarge on November 1, as a charterer, with further additions to be made in the second quarter of 2027.
