The Gujarat government has approved the establishment of Gujarat Export Promotion Council to help MSMEs, startups, and other businesses access overseas markets, according to the state government. The council will provide a central platform for export guidance, market intelligence, technical assistance, and trade-related support. A key part of its work will be to help smaller businesses navigate export procedures, global regulations, and certification requirements. GEPC will assist in identifying foreign buyers, developing market-entry strategies, and participating in trade fairs. Planned support includes digital trade platforms, testing, and certification facilities, trade finance, insurance, and logistics services. The council will prepare district-level export promotion plans to identify local products and manufacturing strengths with potential for global markets, aiming to widen Gujarat’s export base beyond established industrial centres.
