Hapag-Lloyd expects additional shipping services to return to the Suez Canal as maritime conditions in the Red Sea gradually improve, according to the Suez Canal Authority (SCA).
The development was discussed during a meeting between SCA Chairman Adm. Ossama Rabiee and Juan Pablo Richards, Hapag-Lloyd’s Regional Head for Southern Europe, on October 21.
According to the SCA, two Hapag-Lloyd services connecting Asia and Europe are already operating through the Suez Canal. Further services are expected to return in the coming period, although no specific routes or dates have been announced.
During the meeting, Richards highlighted the shipping company’s continued cooperation with the Suez Canal Authority.
