Hapag-Lloyd has warned that heavy rainfall and localised flooding could affect cargo operations in Kenya between October and December 2026.
The carrier stressed that no weather-related operational disruptions have been reported at this stage. However, forecasts indicate above-average rainfall across much of the country.
Severe weather could affect operations at the Port of Mombasa and disrupt inland cargo movements.
Possible impacts include delays to vessel operations, terminal access and container handling. Road and rail services could also face disruption, including cargo moving along the Northern Corridor and transit shipments to Uganda.
