Hapag-Lloyd has temporarily suspended new bookings for selected metal and rubber scrap shipments to Thailand.
The suspension takes effect immediately and will remain in place until further notice. It applies to metal scrap under HS codes 7204, 7404 and 7602, as well as rubber scrap under HS code 4004.
From 16 November 2026, the terminal will require a security deposit of THB150,000 per container for imports of mixed metal, aluminium scrap, steel scrap and rubber scrap.
The deposit is intended to cover potential terminal storage costs. Consignees must arrange payment directly with the terminal at least 12 hours before the vessel arrives.
