Harbinger raises $240M to expand EV platform beyond trucks
The Garden Grove, California, company has raised more than $650 million since 2021. FedEx and THOR Industries participated as strategic investors in the new round
Harbinger raised $240 million in Series D funding to push its electric vehicle platform into energy storage, power generation, autonomy, and defense while it ramps production for a 2,000-truck order from FedEx. Tiger Global, Capricorn’s Technology Impact Fund, and Ridgeline co-led the round, the Garden Grove, California, company said Thursday.
The FedEx order, valued at more than $300 million, is due by the end of 2027. Harbinger said the new money will fund the continued ramp of its medium-duty manufacturing capacity alongside the newer businesses.
The release describes Harbinger as “an American industrial technology platform company” and lists commercial vehicles as one of five markets the new funding covers.
“Electrification is at the core of everything we do, and increasingly, electrification is at the core of industry, defense, mobility, and AI,” said John Harris, Harbinger’s co-founder and CEO, in the release.
