HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering (KRX:009540) presented mixed third-quarter 2026 results on October 28, showing strong year-over-year profitability growth tempered by sequential headwinds from foreign exchange volatility and seasonal factors. The company’s earnings presentation revealed operating profit of 1,447.2 billion won, up 37.3% from the prior year, though down 12.0% from the previous quarter on sales of 8,286.2 billion won.

The results came as the stock fell 2.03% to 241,500 won, trading near the bottom of its 52-week range of 236,500 to 494,500 won. While the company beat earnings-per-share forecasts, revenue slightly missed analyst expectations, and a sharp swing in non-operating items drove net income down 51.3% quarter-over-quarter to 777.0 billion won.

Despite the quarterly volatility, the presentation highlighted the company’s strategic progress, including record engine profitability, a dramatic offshore plant turnaround, and order momentum that exceeded the full-year target by the end of September. Management attributed the sequential decline primarily to fewer working days at , , and one-off wage settlement costs.

Quarterly Performance Highlights The company’s consolidated financial overview shows the divergence between strong underlying business trends and quarter-specific headwinds that affected the three-month period.
