HEA Energy has agreed to acquire Seaway7 Heavy Transport, the heavy transportation business of Seaway7, part of the Subsea7 Group.

According to Subsea7, the transaction covers six vessels, five owned by Seaway7 Heavy Transport and one chartered from a third party.

While the acquisition announcement does not identify the vessels by name, Seaway7’s published fleet information lists six vessels in its heavy transportation business: Seaway Eagle, Seaway Falcon, Seaway Hawk, Seaway Osprey, Seaway Albatross and Seaway Swan, with the latter being the chartered vessel.

The open-deck semi-submersible vessels are used to transport offshore wind foundations, substations, jack-up vessels, offshore modules and other oversized cargo. Seaway7 says its fleet can carry loads of up to 55,000 tonnes.
