A second shipment of industrial machinery destined for the Dangote East Africa Refinery has arrived at the Kenyan port of Lamu, Kenya, aboard the vessel Great Prosperity.
The ship delivered 154 pieces of vehicles and equipment, marking another stage in the mobilisation of what is one of African’s most significant energy projects.
Valued at approximately KSH2.2 trillion (USD17 billion), the planned refinery is designed to process up to 700,000 barrels of crude oil per day, making it the largest refining complex in East Africa when completed.
It is expected to produce petrol, diesel and aviation fuel for Kenya and neighbouring markets, while supporting the development of the country’s northern region as an industrial centre.
