Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG (HHLA) has lowered its earnings forecast for the 2026 financial year, citing strike-related disruptions, challenges associated with the ramp-up of terminal automation in Hamburg and a non-cash impairment charge in its Logistics segment.
The German port and logistics operator now expects Group operating profit (EBIT) of between €115 million and €135 million, down from its previous forecast of €150 million to €170 million.
The revision follows weaker-than-expected container throughput at HHLA’s Hamburg terminals, where industrial action and the ongoing implementation of additional automation have affected operational performance.
HHLA has also revised its container throughput outlook and now anticipates a significant year-on-year decline in 2026, compared with its previous expectation of a slight decrease.
