HID Shipyard has launched a newly built cutter suction dredger (CSD) at the Yan’an Reservoir project site in China, marking an important milestone ahead of commissioning and operational deployment.

Designed for large-scale reservoir desilting and waterway improvement, the new CSD features a 4,500 m³/h flow capacity, a double-pump configuration, a maximum dredging depth of 25 meters, and a discharge distance of up to 5,000 meters.

Equipped with a 20-inch dredging system and a powerful cutter head, the dredger is designed to loosen compacted sediment and transport dredged material efficiently over long distances.

According to HID, its configuration also supports sand extraction and other demanding dredging applications.
