A fund managed by IFM Investors has agreed to buy a combined 63.9 percent stake in Associated British Ports (ABP) from CPP Investments and Omers.
CPP Investments (33.9 percent) and Omers (30 percent) agreed to sell their entire respective stakes in ABP, giving the fund majority ownership of the UK ports group.
Financial terms have not been disclosed. Completion is expected in the first half of 2027, subject to customary shareholder and regulatory approvals.
ABP operates 19 facilities, handling approximately a quarter of the UK’s seaborne trade, according to IFM. ABP’s activities include supporting offshore wind development, with investments during the sellers’ ownership including Green Port Hull and the Immingham Renewable Fuels Terminal.
