Iraq exported nearly 533 million barrels of crude oil in the first nine months of 2026, an average 1.9 million barrels per day (bpd), according to a local think tank.

The exports fetched OPEC’s second largest oil producer around $37 billion during that period, Eco Iraq said, citing data by the State Organisation for Marketing Oil (SOMO).

The exports this year are way below Iraq’s oil supplies of 3.4 million bpd to the global market before the eruption of the Iran-US conflict on February 28.

Iraq and other Gulf oil producers have been locked out of the world market with the closure of Hormuz Straits, through which most of their exports pass.
