Lloyd’s Register launches service to manage cargo disruptions
Lloyd’s Register (LR) Advisory has launched a new Supply Chain Resilience service to help ports, governments and logistics operators manage cargo disruptions and identify alternative transport routes. The service was introduced on 4 November…
The service was introduced on 4 November 2026 at the IAPH World Ports Conference in London. It focuses on keeping essential cargo moving when geopolitical tensions, port congestion, severe weather or infrastructure failures affect established trade routes.
According to LR, disruptions at major ports or transport corridors can create delays across wider logistics networks. As a result, alternative gateways may face additional pressure, while road and rail connections struggle to handle diverted cargo.
The new service aims to help organisations assess these risks and prepare practical responses before disruptions spread.
LR Advisory examines transport networks across ports, airports, road borders and rail connections. It then assesses alternative routes based on available capacity, costs, delays and operational risks.
