Lockheed Martin to Spend $420M on Growing Production in Arkansas

Lockheed Martin has announced plans to invest $420 million to grow its manufacturing operations in Camden, Arkansas.
According to a November 2 release, the company will use the investment to increase its production capacity for a range of missile platforms and defense systems, creating 650 new full-time jobs over the next five years. That would be in addition to the 1,100 workers already employed at Lockheed Martin's Camden facility.
“Lockheed Martin is investing at unprecedented speed and scale to expand manufacturing capacity and deliver the critical capabilities our warfighters need, faster,” said Lockheed Martin Camden site general manager Adam Bailey.
The company's Camden facility was first established in 1979, as a 2.2 million square foot facility that sits on 2,427 acres in East Camden's Highland Industrial Park. The facility has delivered more than 700,000 missiles and rockets over its four decades in operation.
