MacGregor has secured an order to retrofit programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for the quarter ramps on 35 Wallenius Wilhelmsen pure car and truck carriers (PCTC). The upgrades will be carried out according to the vessels’ sailing schedules and availability. Replaced controllers will be retained as spares for other ro-ro equipment onboard or vessels using the same equipment.
Wallenius Wilhelmsen said the programme forms part of its approach to managing equipment obsolescence and reducing operational disruptions.
MacGregor, which originally supplied equipment for the vessels during their design and newbuilding phases, booked the order in the third quarter of 2026.
