Our ambition to power our new fleet of Very Large Ammonia Carriers (VLACs) with ammonia has taken an important step forward.
Our retrofit project, RIPPLE, has been selected for EU Innovation Fund funding, pending finalisation of the grant agreement.
The project would equip vessels with dual-fuel engines, enabling them to use ammonia as marine fuel and reduce emissions from their operations. Moving ahead with the retrofits will depend on securing commercial commitments from customers.
With ten VLACs joining our fleet, we see significant potential to support the adoption of ammonia as a marine fuel.
