Mammoet Canada Eastern, the port of Argentia and Argentia Capital have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to advance the development of a floating dry dock and marine repair facility at the Newfoundland and Labrador gateway.
The partnership incorporates Mammoet’s expertise in engineered heavy lifting, transport and marine operations, specialised technology from its subsidiary Tugdock, and port of Argentia’s marine infrastructure and development capabilities.
Tugdock’s submersible platform (TSP), a modular floating dry dock system designed to accommodate a wide range of vessels and industrial applications, is central to the initiative. The scalable design provides an alternative to conventional dry-docking infrastructure and can adapt to evolving market requirements.
The proposed facility would use the port of Argentia’s dock and industrial infrastructure, deep-water and ice-free harbour allowing for around-the-clock operations.
