The Ministry of Commerce is organising FTA outreach programmes across India to help exporters use trade pacts more effectively, said Piyush Goyal, Minister for Commerce and Industry, GoI. The initiatives are being conducted with state governments to explain market-access opportunities and help businesses identify routes to preferential treatment under existing pacts. India has implemented FTAs with the UAE, Mauritius, Australia, Oman, the European Free Trade Association bloc, the UK, and New Zealand over the past five years. State-level sessions will be held to help local industries understand how to use the pacts. For cargo and logistics operators, FTA utilisation could influence export demand, destination markets, and shipment flows.
